Residents Councils exist at all sites except Oakleaf Villas, The Thomas Pumphrey House, Heritage Crest, and Heritage Overlook. Each Council acts as the governing body for the resident’s social activities and as the liaison with the Housing Commission. Presidents and Vice-Presidents are appointed to the Resident Advisory Board, which meets quarterly with the Executive Director and Executive Staff at the Housing Commission. Members of the Resident Advisory Board are also selected to serve on Formal Grievance Hearing Panels to assist the Housing Commission with administrative hearings requested by residents.
The Resident Council Boards usually consist of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Residents are elected to these positions and volunteer their services to the community. The Resident Council organizes an agenda for monthly meetings and coordinates trips and functions.
Each individual Council meets on a monthly basis in their respective Community Center. Residents should check with their Property Managers for the meeting schedules and are encouraged and invited to attend the meetings.
