INVITATION TO BIDDERS

Request for Proposal RFP 080410 Project Name: Pinewood East HVAC Upgrades INVITATION TO BIDDERS – Plans & Specifications issued August 5, 2010 As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County (HCAAC) will accept sealed bids for the: Pinewood East HVAC Upgrades and Other Building Renovations at Pinewood East 18-5,this work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary for the HVAC Upgrades. Total Base Bid consisting of 62,500 square feet of a Four Story Housing Complex to include the cost of demolition, new construction, finishes, including the related architectural, mechanical (Provide New Water Source Heat Pump System),electrical,plumbing,fire detection and alarm, and all other requirements needed to complete this project. Bids will be received until 1:00 pm. on August 27, 2010 at the Office of the Modernization Director, 7477 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Suite 300, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21061, at which time they will be publicly read. Prospective bidders must obtain and read the Instructions to Bidders, Contract Documents, and Detailed Specifications. Documents will be available to bidders, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.upon making a non-refundable deposit with the Housing Commission in the amount of $100.00 per set. The deposit must be in the form of a check or money order. Documents are available for PUBLIC READING at the Modernization Director’s Office, 7477 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Suite 300 Glen Burnie Maryland 21061. A Pre-bid Conference will be held 1:00 PM. on Wednesday August 18, 2010 at the Pinewood East Community Room, 7900 Benesch Circle Glen Burnie, MD 21060 at which time the HVAC/Central Plant Room and all other areas will be made available for inspection. All potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting to become familiar with the project conditions and to submit questions regarding the project; however, attendance is not a requirement of the Contract. FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY EXPANSION

The Housing Commission received additional funding to enhance the Family Self-Sufficiency Program in 2010. We are currently completing orientations for public housing and section 8 families who wish to better their futures and hope to increase their employment ability and/or move to home ownership. Please contact our staff at 410-222-6200, extension 156 for section 8 families, and extension 134 for public housing residents.
