Welcome to Pinewood Village, one of Anne Arundel County's modern, affordable senior communities. Pinewood Village, consisting of 200 apartments, is the largest community owned and managed by the Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County. The community consists of one four story building and eighteen two story garden apartment buildings. It offers one bedroom, junior one bedroom, two bedroom and studio apartments.

At Pinewood Village, active senior adults and disabled individuals enjoy the comforts and benefits of independent living. However, should the need arise and assistance is needed, Pinewood Village is one of the few communities in Anne Arundel County that offers the Congregate Housing Services Program to elderly seniors at a very reasonable additional cost.

The Pinewood Village Park nestled in the trees in the center of the village, is equipped with tables, grills and a swing. The Park is a great place to picnic or just relax with friends.

Activities and Programs

Pinewood Village residents are invited to participate in the programs and activities offered in the community. Activities include bingo, bus trips, parties, dances, bible study, arts and crafts such as ceramics, and a special exercise class for residents who have special needs.

The Housing Commission is committed to providing residents with services needed to enhance the quality of life. That is why there is an on-site social worker five days per week to assist residents with coordinating needed services and referring residents to the appropriate social service agencies when necessary.

Community Organizations

Resident Council -The Council meets the second Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m. in the Gordon Court Community Room. The Resident Council represents the rights and desires of the Pinewood Village residents. The Council works directly with Housing Commission staff in developing policies. We encourage you to participate in your Resident Council.

Pinewood Village is a community has so much to offer that encourages relationships with your fellow neighbors and Housing Commission staff, such as:

  • Bingo
  • Tenant Council meetings
  • Holiday gatherings
  • Bus trips to monuments and educational sites

Come together and share the finer things in life with a neighbor. The feeling of neighborly love is a greater accomplishment than the headache and despair of a neighborly dispute, which leads to no progress within your community.

Participating in community activities could keep you from violating your Lease. The most frequently violated sections of your lease refer to disturbing other resident’s peaceful enjoyment of their accommodations and not acting in a cooperative manner towards neighbors and PHA staff; and refraining from acting or speaking in an abusive or threatening manner towards neighbors and PHA staff.  Don’t be in violation of your lease, be a part of your community and get involved!

The Resident Council is always looking for new ideas and fresh faces.  Be sure to attend the monthly meetings and help to make Pinewood Village a place to call home, your home.

Feel free to contact the Management Office if you have any questions about Pinewood Village, they can be reached at 410.222.6210
